For Dhiresha

I say it again and again
such a fire we have lit
the coals of my heart are burning
burning for you

I am aware of my mortality
I am aware of that portal
that gateway to a love supreme
a love that can meet death
and die in untainted stillness
a love that can live without tarnish
without burden

I raise my eyes and see a luminous cloud
craving dies in the hush of my hand
resting on ineffable silk
a serenity sworn silent
a tantrik greeting
an accolade to the coming dawn

* tantra तन्त्र, literally “loom, weave, system” denotes the esoteric traditions of Hinduism and Buddhism that developed in the middle of the 1st millennium AD
